Car hire at Bologna Airport
There are 10 car hire companies with a desk on-site at the airport. These include Goldcar, Advantage, Sicily by Car (or Auto Europa, Dollar and Thrifty), Maggiore, Europcar, Avis, Hertz, Sixt, Locauto and Autovia

On its own and just past the Tourist Information office is the car hire giant, Europcar. Once you enter the Arrivals Hall, keep walking straight ahead and you'll find both the Tourist Information office and Europcar car hire desk on your right. Europcar cars are parked in the P2 car park.
More car hire at Bologna Airport
ALL other car hire desks are located on the same block at the other end of the Arrivals Hall. To find them, as soon as you enter Arrivals from Baggage Reclaim, walk towards your right, go past the Travelex, Libreria Mondadadori, Titoli, Time Café and the Vecchia deli and you'll see them on your left.
Autovia, Avis and Locauto car hire

You'll see these first. Autovia and Avis cars are parked in the P2 car park whilst you'll find your Locauto car in the P3 car park.
Maggiore and Auto Europa (Sicily by Car) car hire

If you've booked a Sicily by Car, Dollar or Thrifty car hire, then you also need to go to the Auto Europa desk as that's where you'll get your keys. Both Maggiore and Europa cars are located in the P2 car park.
Goldcar, Sixt and Hertz car hire

These car hire companies are just a little further a long. Goldcar cars can be found in the P3 car park whereas you'll find your Sixt and Hertz car hires in the P2 car park.
Hertz #1 Club Gold and Advantage car hire

If you've got a car with Hertz and you're one of their #1 Club Gold members, you can find them just to the right side of the main Hertz car hire desk. Next to them, is Advantage Rent-a-Car… and you'll notice that just to the right of them is a wee little drop box for returning your keys. If you've booked your car hire with either Hertz or Advantage, you'll find your car at the P2 car park.
Where's your car parked?
Autonoleggi - Car rental
Look out for the Autonoleggi (car rental) sign with the logo of your car hire company. Cars are parked in one of two car parks: the P2 multi-storey car park and the P3 car park
P2 Car Park

To get to the P2 car park, the easiest exit to come out of would be the exit by the main bulk of the car hire desks are located (basically not where Europcar is). Walk across the road and you'll see a path going straight ahead leading to a multi-storey car park.
P2 car hire on level -1
As you get a a little closer, you'll see the sign for P2 and Autonoleggi (car rental). Closer still and you'll find this big yellow sign - at the bottom you'll note that car rental is on the -1 level. Walk a little bit further up and there is a lift to your left. Europcar and Avis also have cars parked just outside the car park on the ground floor to the left of it.
One of these is yours
Once you're down, voila - the car hire car park for Maggiore, Advantage, Sicily by Car (Auto Europa), Hertz, Sixt, Avis, Europcar and Autovia. Don't forget, Europcar and Avis have cars parked on the ground floor just to the left of the car park - they should tell you where you need to go though!
P3 Car Park
The P3 car park lies a little south of the main airport terminal towards the East Terminal, which is being used whilst construction in other areas of the airport is taking place. You won't really need to go here unless you're departing from Bologna Airport and are flying with Ryanair and need to check in luggage or are a non-EU citizen. We'll be covering the process in more detail in a post on departing from Bologna Airport shortly.
Right, back to finding the P3 car park.

Once you exit the airport (pretty much any exit really as you'll have to walk towards your left regardless), look out for the Autonoleggi (car rental) sign with the logos for Goldcar and Locauto and follow them by walking towards your left.
Turn right here
Keep walking, you'll soon be close to the end of the terminal and you'll see a sign that directs you to turn right for P3 and your Goldcar or Locauto car hire.

You'll soon see the car park up ahead of you… From here, you'll need to walk alongside the bottom of the car park (towards your left).

Nearly there - just turn right and you'll see Goldcar and Locauto cars to your left.
