Planned strike at Aer Lingus

01 November 2012 By Luna Dizon
Strike action by around 2,500 Aer Lingus staff has been announced following a breakdown of talks between unions, the Dublin Airport Authority and the airline. The row follows failure to reach a resolution over a €700m shortfall in the pensions scheme. The planned strike will see work stoppage for two hours between 10am and midday on 19 November. Ryanair, who own a 30% stake in Aer Lingus have offered to provide additional aircraft to avert flight disruption. Read more here and keep an eye on Aer Lingus' website for up-to-date information.
