Here's a look at our selection of pretty substantial tapas dishes as well as a little more on this popular restaurant in Jerez de la Frontera. No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 19 Jun
Art and sherry at Bodega Tradición 19 June 2013 By Luna Dizon A visit to Jerez de la Frontera, the land of sherry isn't complete without a trip to one of the many bodegas (wine cellars) offering tastings and a tour. You'll be surprised at just how much more there is to sherry than the sweet drink readied for Christmas or used to make a trifle. I take a tour at Bodegas Tradición who specialise only in very old sherries created in the traditional way. As well as rather liking the sherry, there's the added bonus of a pretty impressive art exhibition too. No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 19 Jun
Heavenly Tocino del Cielo from Jerez 18 June 2013 By Luna Dizon If you're heading to Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucia, as well as trying out the sherry and seeing some flamenco, don't miss the heavenly taste of Tocino del Cielo. Following a recommendation to try it, I do just that at the historic La Rosa de Oro Pasteleria. Cakes and pastries that taste as beautiful as they look right in the centre of the city... they also do some pretty tasty ice cream too! No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 18 Jun
Tasting Sardinia at Osteria delle Quattro Stagioni 06 June 2013 By Luna Dizon Lots of people will have a really good idea about Italian food but what that doesn't appreciate is that every region in Italy has their own set of specialties. In Sardinia, we find a lovely restaurant to taste a little of what the island has to offer. Read on to find out more about my complete fail at having a 'light' lunch at Osteria delle Quattro Stagioni. No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 06 Jun
Maria Pia beach and food to go in Alghero 06 June 2013 By Luna Dizon There are so many restaurants to choose from in Italy - Alghero in Sardinia is no different. But when a big reason for this is the quality of the produce, it's well worth checking out the markets and delis and doing some DIY alfresco dining. We buy cheese and head to what I think is the prettiest beach around Alghero - Maria Pia beach. We also have a quick look at some other food-to-go options... A seafood feast at Doña Isabel, Alghero 05 June 2013 By Luna Dizon On a trip to Alghero, my friend and I decided to head away from the tourist-attracting old town and harbour and walked another direction. We didn't need to go far to find a foodie highlight for the town at Trattoria Pizzeria Doña Isabel. I'm tempted by their lunch special - carpaccio of octopus and pasta with clams, mussels and bottarga. Going to Sardinia? Book your Sardinia car hire in advance for the best deals! Boiled egg and caviar in a tube in Dalarö 04 June 2013 By Luna Dizon On a recent trip to Stockholm, we left the city for Dalarö. It's a beautiful little village and feels a world away from city life. Traditional old houses and surrounded by the sea, it's no wonder Dalarö is a popular retreat for Stockholmers. We have lunch at Dalarö Bageri, a fab café that doubles up as a bakery and deli. Read on to find out about my boiled egg and caviar sandwich. No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 04 Jun
Moussaka at Hondros Taverna, Paphos 20 May 2013 By Luna Dizon Out in Paphos, I was drawn by a picture of a large man in a white vest. I'm not entirely sure what it was that made me think he knew about good food but I gave it a go and it turns out my instinct was right! Who is this man? He's Hondros, the founder of one of the oldest traditional tavernas in Paphos. Going to Cyprus? Book your Cyprus car hire in advance for the lowest prices! A Cyprus coffee with locals in Geroskipou 17 May 2013 By Luna Dizon Go to Cyprus and you'll find coffee is as ubiquitous as halloumi cheese... perhaps even more so. But for a real taste of Cyprus, you should try a Cyprus coffee. Made a little differently and served with the grounds (though not meant to be drink), cups of the stuff is what you're likely to find on the table when there are groups of men in coffee shops sitting and chatting. I try some in Geroskipou and make a few coffee companions too! No Comments Leave a Comment Read Article 17 May
