Ever missed a flight?

Ever worried about missing your flight? I am every time I fly. For very early flights, I usually set 3 different alarm clocks just to make sure I hear at least one of them. Even then, I'll check and double check my tickets or boarding pass to make sure it's the right date and time in my head. Still, despite your best efforts, things can go wrong that are completely out of your control. Sometimes - things can go wrong that are in your control too! In Japan, (slightly embarrassingly…) I'd decided to get my haircut and failed to hear my name being called out on the loudspeaker because I'd forgotten to pick up my boarding pass when I checked in. The hair cut also took longer than expected so when I'd finally finished up, I'd rushed out and then realised I had no idea where I was going before I ran quickly back to check-in to get my boarding pass. I just about made my flight - panting, sweaty and my hair was a mess! But I made it. I did, however, actually miss a flight once when a friend was dropping me off and using her Sat Nav (damn you Sat Navs!), we were directed instead to the cargo terminal of the airport. Let's face it, sometimes, stuff just happens and you miss your flight.

Well, good news if you'd like a bit more peace of mind when you're flying. easyJet now offer their customers Missed Flight Cover where they'll happily get you onto the next available flight or give you a full refund if you miss your flight by up to 4 hours. The cover costs £7.50 for a one way flight or just £9.50 for a return flight. And it doesn't matter why you've missed it… even, if it's your fault (great news for a friend of mine who missed his flight after partying too hard the night before and sleeping in!)

All they ask is that you are at the airport within 4 hours of the scheduled departure, fit to fly as per their terms and conditions and that you head straight to the Sales Desk to make your claim (or call the helpline if there's no-one there) BEFORE you leave the airport. Simples. 

The Missed Flight Cover will also cover all flight related extras you purchased with your flight including baggage, speedy boarding, seat allocation and flight admin fee.
