Port views
Barcleona is one of the world's busiest cruise ports outside the Caribbean.
Travel tip : in the foreground of the above picture is the "Teleferico del Puerto" (Port Cable Car) - this opened as an attraction in the Barcelona International Exposition in 1929 - amazingly it's still in use and provides unequalled views over the old city and the port. There are actually two cable cars you can take in Barcelona - make sure you take this one!

Barcelona Airport's T1
The city is well-served by airports boasting three principal airports (Barcelona, Reus & Girona) The official airport of the city is Barcelona's El Prat Airport (BCN) and now comprises 2 massive terminals (T1 and T2) located on opposite sides of the runway. Barcelona T2 is home to low-cost airlines easyJet and Ryanair. The new T1 building (opened in June 2009) is home to Iberia's Vueling Airlines and most of the remaining legacy carriers like Lufthansa, Air France etc. There are a few longhaul services too to New York and Miami International Airport operated by American Airlines.

Barcelona Airport's T2
T2 has a warm russet coloured marble flooring - now home to easyJet and Ryanair!
Car rental is available at increasingly competitive rates while the abundance of low-cost flights into Barcelona Airport means that car rental take-up is increasing again from this airport. Get a Quote now for cheap car rental from Barcelona's El Prat Airport.

Botero's horse
This beautiful black horse graces the arrivals hall and doubles as a "meeting point"
There is a stunning piece of Colombian Artist, Fernando Botero's work in the arrivals hall of Barcelona's T2 building. It's so amazing it's almost worth going to Barcelona Airport just to see it.. Our CarJet travel bloggers have been down to Barcelona to check out the airport's facilities - read our blog article on what's available for departing passengers at Barcelona T2

Reus Airport is smaller than Barcelona but it has some great flight connections.
Reus Airport is a lot smaller than BCN but has some great flight connections
If you're looking for alternatives to the services into Barcelona's El Prat Airport, Reus Airport was home to Ryanair well before Barcelona El Prat let the low-cost carrier in. Reus is a more basic airport, but thanks (principally) to Ryanair, it' has a wide range of car rental companies and makes a great arrival airport to avoid the traffic and congestion often associated with Barcelona Airport car hire.

Car rental Girona Airport
Ryanair rules the roost at Girona Airport
Spain has a whole bunch of regional languages - Girona and Gerona are the same place (spelt in the Catalan and the Castillian Spanish respectively) - something that drives tourists slightly nuts trying to locate them on a map! - Whatever you call this airport, there's plenty of car rental in Girona Airport available and a suprisingly good bunch of low-cost flights, headed principally by Ryanair (argueably now the "state" airline for Catalonia these days...)
